The cabinet is made from the luxurious rosewood is plush lined inside. The finely inlaid squares are ebony and boxwood which lends itself nicely to a real black and white chequerboard pattern. The white chess pieces are carefully carved out of boxwood in the classic Staunton style while their opponents are fashioned in dense solid ebony.
